While formal institutions would focus on teaching the students to have design thinking and concept developments, it would be best for students and professional architects to put them into drawing. In this digital era, design developments in architecture rely on the skills to put design into computer works, which are is processed with architectural computer programmes.

“People need time to think about the concept, and on the other hand, they need more time to make the blueprints. If we didn’t master the tools to build the design, then we would take too much time to execute the design,” says Shiddiq Wangsaputra, founder of the SKALA Architecture Course.

The SKALA Architectural Course offers courses in architecture and rendering programmes. These include widely used software such as BIM Archicad, Rhino + Grasshopper, Artlantis Studio, V-RAY, Corona Render, Sketchup, Lumion and Photoshop. They promote Building Information Modelling (BIM) system, which although not yet popular in Indonesia, is widely used in America for high-rise developments. BIM system could process the 3D modelling, blueprint drawing and construction management in a single work. This cuts a lot of
time in processing any revision. It also merges the work of the architects, building contractor and other consultants to be in one integrated folder. Besides, it offers highly accurate result which leads to zero- waste construction.

Each course is divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. They are taught by skilled tutors who also work as professional architects or in the building construction industry.

The courses are given in their centres in Bandung and Jakarta. The classroom consists of a small number of people to ensure that the tutor has an intensive connection with the students. The break-out areas are intended for casual consultations and assistance. Besides the regular courses, the team also holds online classes and occasional workshops in collaboration with universities and private institutions.

SKALA Architecture Course prepares the architecture students and professionals to go towards the future.
