Fluid design is no longer a foreign concept in the world of architecture and interior design. In fact, furniture products have frequently adopted the design philosophy, whereby a product mimics the dynamic flowing appearance and curvaceous shape of water. Now it’s Samsung’s turn to apply the design style to their latest mobile phone, Galaxy S6 Edge. In a subsequent luncheon on 16 April 2015 at Tugu Kunstkring Paleis, Menteng, Jakarta, eleven young designers, including product, interior and graphic designers/illustrators and one architect had a friendly discussion on Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge designs and features that meet their lifestyle.
Indonesia Design’s Editor-in-Chief Lina Gan opened the event and introduced guest speaker Lucky Sebastian, an architecture graduate and gadget enthusiast. Lucky explained the role of fluid design in the new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, and then he went on to highlight the phone’s strengths from the technical perspective. Lucky also mentioned Samsung always strives to cater to users’ needs more than what they think they want. Carefully crafted from metal and glass, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge blend purposeful design with powerful features. The Galaxy S6 edge, particularly, shows unique and outstanding beauty while also providing a solid grip and an immersive viewing experience with the world’s first curved display on both sides.
In the design field, it is crucial for professionals to have an advanced gadget they can rely on to help develop their ideas. Therefore it wasn’t a surprise when the room brimmed with an enthusiastic vibe during the discussion session. Camera is one of the most interested feature. The F1.9 lenses and high resolution sensors on both front (5MP) and rear (16MP) cameras provide the most superior image quality in a smartphone, even in the dark.
