In February, Indonesia Design had the honour to be the only Indonesian lifestyle design magazine that was invited to a four-night trip to Rome, Italy organized by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. for the Galaxy A8 and A8+ Experience and Samsung Forum 2018. These most recent Samsung phones are from its A series, which boast a solid glass and metal body, as well as a curved screen top and advanced features designed for millennials. We tried and tested their advanced cameras. All photos in this reportage were taken with the new Samsung Galaxy A8+. Here is the recap of the event.
The phones aren’t beauty without brains – they come with Bixby, an intelligent voice-powered digital assistant. Take a picture of a painting, building or food you’re unfamiliar with, and Bixby will be able to provide details on its name, origin, amount of calories (for food), where to buy it if it’s for sale and more. It also remembers its owner’s routines and pulls relevant information from different apps to be accessible on a single page.
Both Galaxy A8 and A8+ have three cameras each, one 16-mp camera at the rear and two at the front at eight and 16 mp respectively. All the pictures for this reportage were taken with the Galaxy A8+, showing the stellar, print-worth quality of their pictures. The phones also bid adieu to an age where low-light photography is a difficult feat. Even with minimum light, the A8 and A8+ duo can still capture what you wish them to.
Samsung Forum 2018

Held in Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome, the event was an eye-opener to the level of advancement Samsung is aiming for. It was where the electronics giant Samsung showcased its latest innovations that enhance Intelligent Internet of Things (IoT) experiences. Tapping onto the trend where devices and appliances are connected to make our lives convenient, Samsung put the spotlight on The Frame TV; the premium lifestyle soundbars – the NW700 Sound+ and the Soundbar N650, the 4 Door Flex refrigerator, QuickDrive™ washing machine, and the Cordless Vacuum POWERstick PRO™; all of which you can be commanded using Bixby.
