The Art of Devotion

Famous Canadian artist Agnes Martin, whose work ‘Loving Love’ was sold for US$ 2.95 million in Christie’s New York, once said, “Artwork is a representation of our devotion to life.” This meaningful interpretation of art can be enjoyed to the fullest when we step into Tonyraka Art Gallery which is located in South Ubud.

More than 45 years ago, in 1968, Tonyraka Art Gallery was established by a well-known carver called A.A. Gede Raka Wirayuda. Initially called the Raka Gallery, for almost 30 years the gallery has managed to accumulate and sell thousands of art collections, mostly fine wood carving artworks. The business was then continued by his son, A.A. Bagus Tony Hartawan in 1997. In fact, Hartawan not only took over the helm of the company but he has also broadened the range of the artworks to be displayed and sold by the gallery.
