Known as the ‘Island of the Gods’, Bali already has tens of thousands of amazing holiday homes on offer and despite having less than 5,800 sqkm of land the number of villas are still growing. Recently, one of the latest luxurious and bespoke beachfront properties in Sanur has opened its door for discerning guests to experience the ultimate comfort and private holiday bliss. Hidden within lush gardens and blessed with a picturesque view towards Nusa Lembongan and the exotic Indian Ocean - is a beachfront pool villa that stands elegantly in the Regent Hotel Bali compound.

Built as part of the expansion project of Regent Bali, the Beachfront Pool Villa occupies the most secluded section of the whole hotel compound, measured at around 10 hectares. In addition to comfort and privacy, the compound’s signature villa offers the most opulent retreat in all of Regent properties. Size-wise, Regent Beachfront Pool Villa is also the largest compared to the three other villa types in the complex. The villa comprises two bedrooms, a private Jacuzzi, an individual spa treatment room with steam room for two, which is located alongside the pool, a separate dining and living area, two luxurious bathrooms that measures 36 sqm each, and a 130 sqm swimming pool, all spread over a 937 sqm of land.

A renowned design company with various upscale projects under its belt, Genius Loci was commissioned to add its magic touch to the design of Regent Beachfront Pool Villa. The design concept implemented in this luxury establishment places sea view and location at the top of the list. Being the compound’s two strongest suits, these are featured elegantly in the overall layout. Genius Loci managed to concoct a tropical luxury haven for travelers spending time in the tastefully appointed villa, which also come with a lavishly spacious lunar bathtub.

Surprisingly, although luxury is evident in almost every corner of the compound, the building materials used throughout are one hundred percent sourced locally. Alex Bayusaputro as one of the principal designers of Genius Loci discloses the reason, “By using local materials, we could get the right feel in the ambiance in addition to the desired local textures.” The main materials used inside the villa’s interior are timber, rattan, sea shells as well as rocks, including Kerobokan stones that come straight from the island of Bali. The arrangement and selection of materials was also done to reflect the materials used in the main building of Regent Bali Hotel.

The designer split the main building into two parts by separating the public area—consisting of living and dining rooms as well as the pantry—from the private area that comprises the sleeping quarter and the spa. This is done to provide privacy and maximise space experience from one room to another. This way, guests can hold private parties or gatherings in the public areas of the villa without fear of directly disturbing the private zones. The open outdoor area in the outdoor deck also allows guests to enjoy barbecue parties in the open.

On the other hand, the separation of the private and public areas of the villa allows a cross ventilation that supports its tropical living concept where air conditioners are no longer needed. The villa’s beach front location also lets the cool sea breeze penetrate into all parts of the building and create a comfortable and environmentally friendly natural aeration. The tropical living concept is also applied in the master bathroom area which is equipped with an outdoor shower and the adjacent private garden.

Room interactions allowed by the design is also flawless. All rooms are made to have an open and easily accessible outdoor and indoor connection. Closed areas are only found in the sleeping chamber and spa quarter, with timber and stones used as partitions. All rooms have excellent circulation, such as the path that leads into the garden and swimming pool which can be accessed through a stone-clad pathway.

The still pristine beach of Sanur brings a certain romance and exclusiveness to the villa. Sitting so close to the beach with all its magnificence, sumptuousness and privacy, Regent Beachfront Pool Villa truly lives up to its promise as one of the most beautiful places on the Island of the Gods. In fact, no one will dispute the claim that the villa is a piece of paradise that is hard to come by, even in Bali.
